Intro to Bugs and Solutions blog

Many years ago, back in the era of Windows 2000 Server, I created a text file listing all the bugs that I had to grapple with in that system, together with the hard fought solutions I had found or came up with on my own. It grew and grew. Over the months, it transmogrified into a Word file with chapters and subtitles and even an index. It was too much knowledge to remember on my own: every now and then I reinvented the wheel, having forgotten how I had solved a particular bug months before.

I found this file recently, when reviewing and clearing up my backups from (computer) aeons ago. It got me thinking: is life worth fighting with buggy software and hardware? Most of these tips are IT history by now, useless for 99% of the current computer users.

Yet I will create such a list anew, in the form of this blog, to aid me in quick fixing when changing gear, content and connections. Hopefully, the Internet will still be around when I need to refer to my own solutions.
